Privacy
Statement.
Preamble (Webmaster's Rant):
(Jump to Main Statement)
Radiocards.Net has not wasted money on any
"Trust.E" Privacy statement. This is an EU
website, you are protected by law, and that's far better. I have seen Trust.E marks all over, and I often
find them on site's that have recently had public relations nightmares related to privacy
Trust.E may well be a good thing themselves,
but they are purely a product of a total failure of government to deal with protecting your privacy. Big corporations
like programs such as Trust.E as it provides an excuse for government inaction.
Don't support these so called privacy schemes
and industry self-regulation. Having some fancy (and often expensive) logo on a web site can't protect you
can it? Logo's are just cute graphics, they don't think. Trust.E won't jail an affiliate if they are caught
breaching your privacy. A Government can do just that.

The EuroCAUCE Logo above: that doesn't mean
they endorse me or anyone else for that matter, it means I endorse them, and happen to think that they are
fighting the good fight. They didn't pay me to put it there, I didn't pay them for permission to put it there,
Go and check them out when you're finished here.
Section
1: E.U. & Irish Data Protection Rules
I - You are protected by the worlds toughest
privacy Laws.
Radiocards.Net is an Irish website, thus
it is subject to European Union Data Protection Laws, which are some of the most stringent consumer protection
laws on earth. It makes it an offence for this website to share your information with anyone without your
prior consent. However these laws do require us to co-operate with law enforcement authorities, this is the
only exception that I am aware of. I, as the owner of Radiocards.Net fully support these laws and your privacy.
Section 2: Using this
site and system.
I - Email Addresses.
No email addresses are stored in any way
whatsoever unless you actually ask to be our site updates list or our PostmasterDirect lists (see sections
2-V, 3). We maintain no logs of who sent what where. As we don't record email addresses in such a manner,
we can't share them. Radiocards.Net is hostile to spam and spammers. When the sender enters the two required
addresses to send a card, they are used as follows: A notification is sent to the recipient's email address
telling him or her that an electronic postcard has been created for him or her, On the card itself the sender's
email address is linked to their name so the recipient can simply click on the senders name to reply to them
if they wish.
II - Card's Privacy.
The cards sent are private, and we treat
it as a private communication. Cards are given a unique complicated secret URL, and are not linked anywhere,
nor is it possible to search the site for the secret URL, due to the complexity of the URL, there is no realistic
chance that someone could "guess" the URL and read a private card. The email sent to the card's
recipient automatically, contains the secret URL to collect the card, this is the only place where the URL
is recorded. We do not keep any records ourselves. The only people who should see the card are the sender
and the recipient. The sender is given the URL of the card at the end of the card creation process. After
a period of time, currently 7 days, the card is automatically deleted by our software. At no stage do the
administrators of Radiocards.Net see an actual card unless either the sender or recipient specifically ask
us to.
III - Abuse of the System.
As we log no details of the card we have
taken the following approach to handling incidents of abuse. On the notification email sent to the recipient,
at the bottom of it, we include the IP address of the sender and their browser type and also an email address
to send this email to if the recipient has received an abuse card, or spam card. In the event of such an instance,
we ask the recipient to forward the notification email to us at the addresses specified on the card, where
we will deal with the problem ASAP. If you do forward the notification email, we will see the card also, so
if it contains private information you do not wish us to see, don't send us your notification email. We do
use other anti-abuse systems which we will not reveal publicly, however none of these have any effect on your
privacy.
Section
3: Our "Radiocards.Net Announcements" mailing list.
I - Description.
Radiocards.Net
USED TO RUN an announcements mailing list, this WAS a strictly
an opt-in list used to send infrequent emails informing interested
persons
about what
is happening, what's new and other information about this website.
I do not see the privacy policy set out here ever changing
as long as I own this website, but if it ever does for whatever
reason you will be notified
in advance of any such changes. You do not have to be on this
list to either send or receive a card. The information stored
consists of an email address, name, the IP address the subscription
was made from and the date and
time of subscription. None of this data is ever shared with any
outside organisation or person.
II - How to Subscribe.
You
can't, this list no longer exists and has been PERMANENTLY
deleted.
